Struggles of an Inventor
Whilst UK Government is workinghard to support and encourage innovation, British business, in general, still lacks the imagination to take advantage of the opportunities being offered. Aziz Patel's story tells a familiar tale of an inventor struggling to bring his idea to market.

Inventor's Lament
Mandy Haberman and Roland Hill, the authors of this document, are two inventors who have created SMEs based on their respective inventions, who have experienced infringement of their patent rights and the difficulties of enforcement in the UK, other European countries and the USA. Some of our views and recommendations may be considered to be controversial. However, we believe society as a whole is not being well served by the present patent enforcement regime in the UK or elsewhere where the legal costs of litigation are too high for all but the very rich.

This document represents our best efforts to identify what might be done to improve the situation for the lone inventor or SME.
